It’s our annual Gift Day on 11th October and it’s a great time to review and renew your giving to the church. We’re so aware that for some of us this year finances will be under real pressure and therefore it will be difficult to give any more than we are already. For others we will be privileged enough to be in a position to give generously. I’d like to encourage us to do just that – especially as others in our community may start to feel the pinch.
Last year saw some ups and downs in our finances – we celebrated increased giving from the congregation and a legacy that really helped in times where our cashflow was very tight. We also managed to reduce a lot of our costs which puts us in a stronger position financially this year. We would love to see that continue this year as we seek to serve God and our community faithfully with all we’ve been given.
As you’ll see from this newsletter our staff team and those volunteering their energy and time to the church are putting real energy into adapting our ministry opportunities in the church. We are also continuing with work on the building (recently replacing windows in the hall making them water-tight and more energy efficient) in order to ensure that it continues to be a unique resource for the sharing Jesus’ love in our community in both spiritual and practical ways.
Please take a moment to review your regular giving to the church and email our treasurer (email@example.com) to let them know if you’re going to be able to start giving or increase your donations this year. Of course Gift Aid is an incredible help if you’re paying taxes so please do take the time to complete the form that you can find on our website: www.stmkr.org/give .
