at St Mark's
The church has an important role to walk with you as you mark the things in life that really matter.
On this page, you can find advice, contact details, and online forms to help organise special services or prepare for key faith milestones. You will be guided by a minister at the church (vicar, curate, or a licensed lay minister), and the initial arrangements will be made with the office, where Kellie can be contacted at 020 8960 3929, admin@stmkr.org
Weddings & Banns of Marraige
As your parish church, we can act as registrar and venue for Christian wedding ceremonies. We are required to read banns if you live in the parish and are planning a Church of England wedding elsewhere. Whatever your question, the best source of information is at the Church of England's info page Click Here.
To get married here, please reach out on Admin@stmkr.org or talk to Dave. We will make sure you are all set to contact the Brent Registry office and book a date.
To have your banns read ahead of your wedding, please fill in the form below to arrange. After reading these banns 3 times, we will be ready to sign and send your Banns Certificate.
Funeral Services at Church or place of Committal
We regularly come alongside families as they mourn lost loved ones. It is important to involve your Funeral Director by asking them to arrange a funeral with St Mark's, but you can enquire about dates directly. A service usually takes place at church before moving to a place of committal - either a crematorium or cemetery - but we commonly lead services at chapels at the place of committal.
Once we have a date agreed through the funeral director, a minister will arrange a visit which is usually at the home of the deceased or a family member. Here they will listen to find out more about the deceased as well as help plan a suitable, and personal service.
We are very well located for West London Crematorium and can suggest musicians to support on the day. We can also host receptions or wakes of up to 80 people in our Church Hall.
Baptism, Christening & Confirmation
Baptism celebrates joining the family of God and receiving the gift of a new life. If you are in our parish or part of our church family then it is a joy to offer baptism to you and your children.
Anglican churches value Child Baptism (also known as Christening) to start a faith journey with others. We have regular services through the year and when you find one that works. we will arrange a visit from a minister. If you or your partner has not been baptized yourself, we would encourage you to join our well-beloved Alpha Course.
We hold services of Adult Baptism in the Spring each year. If you are a Christian and have not yet been baptized, then you should! We recommend that this is prepared for by attending an Alpha course with a few sessions with Dave and other baptism candidates.
Confirmation is offered to anyone who has been baptized. This often happens soon after adults are baptized, or when children are old enough to have discovered a robust faith for themselves - often in their early teens. Confirmation is taken by the Bishop of Willesden and these services take place every two or three years and include a series of confirmation classes.
